Graphic Design

Through theory and studio work, the first-year program will give the student an overall view of the vast field of commercial art. Instruction will include projects in ad layout, color chart, cover design, mechanicals, keyline paste-up, poster design, silk screen printing, album cover design, package design, graph design, interior design, fashion illustration, and using digital photography as well as transforming scanned photos and objects into high quality art. Students will have the opportunity to see their work from start (thumbnail sketches) to finish (printed product). Second- and third-year students are expected to develop a portfolio. Dual Credits available. Students can earn 3 hours of college credit at Moraine Valley Community College with a grade of a B or higher.

 

This course may be repeated for a second unit of credit.
