  • What is a final transcript?  It includes all high school grades up through 2nd semester senior year as well as the student’s graduation date. Final transcripts are usually processed and sent by mid-June following graduation.
  • Official transcript vs unofficial transcript? An official transcript is sent directly from one school to another or in a sealed envelope given to the student to hand deliver.  An unofficial transcript can be requested by the student for their own records or to provide to schools or employers upon request.
  • Why do seniors need to request it?  Shepard High School cannot send a transcript without a student formally requesting one.
  • Where are transcripts sent?  Colleges will request to see a final transcript to verify that a student graduated from high school.  This impacts financial aid and scholarships.  Many times the military, trade schools and employers will request a final transcript as well.
  • Is there a cost?  If using Parchment, there is a small charge ($4-$5).  Class of 2024 and after can use Schoolinks for no charge.  Class of 2024 students who are currently using Parchment can use it for free until August 1st, 2024.
  • Is there a limit to how many transcripts can be requested?  No, however, students usually send their final transcript once they’ve decided on the one place they will continue their education.  Sometimes they change their minds or circumstances change and that is ok.
  • How quickly can I get my transcript?  Transcripts are processed by administrative assistants and other staff when school is in session.  Please allow at least 24 hours during school days for your electronic order to be processed.  If you need a paper transcript, please call ahead to either the main office or the counseling office.  Be prepared to show an ID when you arrive.  708-371-1111
  • How do students order electronically?  Class of 2023 or before, use Parchment.  Class of 2024 or later, use Schoolinks.  Open the tabs below for the links and additional instructions.
  • Will students still have access to their District 218 email account after graduation?   No.  Therefore, when they log in to Parchment or Schoolinks, current students should change the District 218 email to their own email and password.
  • What else do they need to know?  Summer requests for transcripts go through the Main Office.
  • What if my student is still having trouble logging in?’  Students can get help from their counselors through the last day of school.
