okay we're going to call this meeting to order please thank you okay the regular school board meeting for the month of April is April 18th 2024 We Are The District administration Center we need to take a roll call Secretary of protein would be mrs. Collier at this time Burlington are you do you shouldn't know you get the name actually just do a favor so your name and hers secretary pretend that's what's up would you please take a Rollerball she is an excused absence I am present Miss Collier okay we have a quorum Miss Israel okay we have a quorum so we want to appoint I want to appoint this is Collier to be our regular board secretary Board of Education building Mr Christians vacated seat you retire from the board so I need a second please I have a first and a second all in favor opposed abstentions graduations Mister secretary okay agenda item we need to save Pledge of Allegiance please Dollywood Sevier evening soldier from the Plex to United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all that's cute thank you we bring down to item number for is resolutions and combat commendations mr. mcpartland please sir is Ben policy the Board of Education 2% resolutions of commendation to say off students and community members who have excelled academically artistically athletically professionally to others very first recognized student from Richardson Shepherd selected to the All-State choir and All-State music under the leadership of Choral directors Josh Hammontree and Tyler tonight we celebrate six students for their extraordinary success this year Shepherd students Aidan Riley and Jackson gelato and Richard students are in Christian Diaz and Cheyenne Martin earned selection to the Illinois music educators Association All-State choir they performed at the annual imeime a conference and for the second straight year Richard stood Natalie Brodsky was selected to the cast of Illinois High School theater Festival All-State musical she performed with the other 80 cast members of she kills monsters at Braden Auditorium in Illinois State University all of these students needed to audition turn these honors congratulations everyone and I believe who is Tyler and Stringham and would like to say a few words about their extraordinary achievements I just asked her what Bob was saying all the students have. it's a rigorous process they have to make it to their District Ensemble first and then from the district on top of the have to get selected to the state and so I think there were about 10,000 auditions across the entire State this year and these guys got some to be a part of the All-State Ensemble which the big big deal I think it's like a 5% chance or something crazy so which is very proud of them proud of their hard work in their efforts my truck makes sense for me to keep it short so I'll I'll follow the Sun by the same thing we've had we actually had one other male that made it to I'm Allstate but he had a wrestling meet and he's a senior so but these kids you know so he didn't go but these kids on my never make them Edition cuz it's a lot of extra outside work but these kids have been working so hard in the program they took it upon themselves to go through the process and we're in District 1 in which as Brianna said was is the toughest District in the state and so I'm just really grateful for you guys for recognizing accomplishments but also for the students that put in a lot of extra time and effort to achieve these things for our district so thank you and for themselves Cheyenne graduations get my Subs on her Aaron Buckler a Jackson graduations guys next to recognize con display from Richards conscious play production of When We Were Young and unafraid produced the season of incredible achievement other direction of Mike Badger Johnny Boy Claudia Baranowski Liz kritikos and Ricky Lee the cast of Lexington Bensky Mary Kasich and sabriya Riley tied for first place at the righteous a sectional to qualify for the ihsaa state finals all sectional honors one Dakshin included Lexi Mary and sabriya forecast Mary Jalen Johnson and Seann malaphor sound and Damien Mizzou Tech Jose and Sofia Falcone for lighting finally the production took third place at the end the ihsaa state finals to close their season regulations everyone and I believe mr. Patrick first and foremost thank you for recognizing his kids I'm sure I think was a real team effort both groups were helping each other the entire time there's a little bit of pressure coming back from in Wayne State and I think they lived up to that and really did a great job literally the entire time people stepped up and did things for one another for both group so I just started to be commended for their attitude and their diligence and a special thank you to our principal dr. Jacobson who is Lily throwing boards off of again everybody stepped up and I'm really proud of everybody thank you for recognizing them are you driving next week we are recognized the group interpretation the proud tradition of competitive drama success at HR continued with group interpretation under the direction of Jason Malcolm Salton and Doctor Mike Jacobsen cast of I hate Fairyland won best in South Suburban College drama Festival they then took second place at the right is just a sectional to qualify for the state finals and I believe to one of the directors would like to say a couple of words thank you guys so so much like was mentioned Conference champions in arguably the hardest conference in the whole state I mean the top two performances were also at that conference room at the state champion and state runner-up were at that conference tournament and three weeks prior we were placed of them in rank so that's the nature of it it's back and forth but at that tournament every single cast member there's 11 students they were all selected for all-conference cash that needs a majority of the judges say yes your performance was good enough to qualify as you enough for an award do I conference all 11 cast members at sectionals we were second place nine cast members was selected for all-sectional Castanet State 7 cast members were selected or All-State cast two of which were freshmen so we're very excited that it's it's it's well and alive and we have some Juniors and seniors Christian Ronnie and Alyssa are here to represent our team it's it's a 30-minute performance and everyone has to be in the whole time and this teaches kids so much about teamwork and cooperation and communication skills that's why I came back to direct as my first year directing I was a part of this for three years when I was at Richards and I meant so much to me I wanted to carry that on to be student I think we've been served as exactly that so thank you recognizing finally tonight we recognize teacher Aaron vermedahl and is digital media students from I could not attend tonight because his daughter is in her spring Musical I last month mystery metal and his talented hard-working students Peter that the student television network convention in Long Beach California has more than 200 of the best digital media programs in the nation for both the Bulldogs delivered a super performance they won first place in the prestigious broadcast excellent award for Superior treatment in Scholastic broadcast journalism in the morning news program category tonight representing the digital media program at Richard Caitlin sleep over Kylie Berg Jaylen Johnson and Maria Fernandez I believe this program has always been great 3 years are amazing literal the show they put on is fantastic and so I thought I'd let our anchor of 1 Acres of the show Sofia talk about the experience we can celebrate their great achievement last year was a little rough when he's never been there before I was totally finished and done this year and then what do we do we won I'm so the five of us along with around 10 other students and our amazing digital media teach him a server but all I got the opportunity to travel to Long Beach California for the second time ever and we competed with over 300 High School's a lot of them being primarily film schools and private schools and Little Richard's a high when a first-place in broadcast excellent in which it was an episode we film here edited here and submitted so we want first place again competing over 300 schools and then we competed in the competition where it was a timed so crazy 8 it's like a time to Bulldog dispatch episode which we filmed their attitude and everything and under 8 hours and we won second place for that and it was awesome okay the board would like to congratulate all those receiving accommodation and we need to pass and approve it first though too so I need a motion on the floor to approve the resolution to the accommodations as right the first and the second do we know who this is and would you take a role for you okay Miss Roe yes I'm at the house key yes I call you all right I'm the motion carries and again we would like to congratulate all those receiving a award this evening and we have other board business to attend to this evening so if you feel leaving at this time you may or you can welcome to stay for the whole meeting to okay that brings us down to agenda item number six as board members I'm sorry five comments from the public related to the meeting agenda items public ebony make this evening I don't think so okay to respond to the public and or or numbers, do any of the board members have in common Ariana what is the style to agenda item number seven is approval of the consent agenda items 7 Days approval of the minutes regular board meeting March 21st 2020 for closed-session meeting March 21st 2024 11th July time 11 is approval of a Furnitures Murrieta School District 218 to 18 payment of bills and payables agenda item to item 12 concerning staff personnel Personnel list number 20 24-4 and number 14 agenda item 14 is superintendent annual evaluation Seuss any board member one sing Shake It Off every non please take it to a vote the secretary we're just down to agenda item number sorry 8888 is on business school board meeting dates 2020 for 2025 is there any discussion on the board member meeting dates we had a blast meeting and I think everybody was okay with them right all right the cats is Canelo Miss roll we're good on the dates okay bring some starter with John Deere item number 9 is reports to the superintendent 1980s technology update any questions turn on princess trout and 90 years student student enrollment report is there any questions or discussion on this item pretty much borax Esther okay Springs just on the 9th to use general maintenance report in question that maintenance comments discussion none of the three brings us down to 90 is foia request any questions on the foils turn on Reese's down the 90s Christmas managers update any question on the business managers update 9 ft security I'm sorry Safety and Security report any questions on Safety and Security Ariana freezers down to nine GS committee reports by board members are there any committee reports at this time myself Nora and then we had Tina and and in Tony and Josh was on with his two we did have a presentation by Elizabeth from Raymond James and you know just kind of talking about some possibilities for painting projects and so there's going to be a presentation for the entire board meaning for you'll get no more details about about that and then we also talked about the party for the food service and they walked us through that process they do 15 watches to the rubrics so everything has been submitted to the state now and we're just waiting for the state to approve what all the paperwork they had to be sent in the next board meeting then the rec station for our vendor will, so it should be approved by we're pretty confident it'll be approved from the right over your Tony still going through his budget meetings different departments so he's almost almost ready we'll be talking about the tentative budget and then so it was a good meeting of course and I suppose suppose some things will be coming to the board in Greater detail in May thank you for your report are there any other board reports made it reports which Disney Terri Nunn we need to go down to 10 beers resolution excuse me is this is an action came in good low Super Sentai vendors to Lombard and 3 ft that's very good environment how about the hiring practices of Workforce I was at looking what are the package okay thank you is there any other discussion or questions on this what's the difference between a theater does anybody I understand the auditorium in the fears with the state in the whole world I guess I don't know if it's true or not dr.
