I can't seem to get you guys in backyard shorter come by can you come up front awesome thank you Walmart great job. good job applications okay everybody for coming this evening and congratulating Ross accommodations as secretary please take a boat control Christian yes all right so we're going to move down removing the agenda I don't think we're going to go into closed session because our house was here and just leave you as another meeting to go to so we're going into clothes or discussion an appointment employment compensation and performance of specific employees discussion of pending or probable litigation affecting or on behalf of the public body and discussion of its treatment discussion I collect the negotiation a discussion on semi and for review in closed session minutes and tapes discussion on purchase lease and or sale of real estate Russian on student disciplinary matters I need a motion to go on a clothes please okay would you please call favor extensions alright we're back in Open Session and sorry for the long wait George and item number five is comments from the public related to meeting agenda items are there any comments from the public to see evening your policy is that you get three minutes thank you very much so to start off we're both on seniors at Richards high school and we would just like to bring attention to the fact that our fundraiser organized by the Unity Club got shut down there's a large population of Palestinian students District 218 who I felt it needs a head so I can make an impact in some way shape or form and my fundraising aid for Palestinians in Gaza be felt like this would help remind students this was an important amenity to assist trauma and empathy for a family in Houston the tramontane we are Californians are feeling through these difficult times is undeniably difficult and to take away our support and compassion that would help us have our voices be heard and to make an impact redirects that attention away from Palestinian students were going through a difficult time right now we need support from a school district who we thought priority the students over this but that was proved wrong we don't feel like we are getting that support and we feel like we are getting silence and you let your silence is louder than our silence thank you ladies for me thank you for your comments first of all I'm coming up to your place between we have meeting on November 29th with Arab family services to discuss these matters and we we did support the walkout at both Shepherd and Richards and I've been talked with. Jake's on some ideas on how we can help Humanity real needs so those things are in the works but there were some things part of that Unity Club that were crossing a line in terms of putting our our name on things Pollard's that was something we want to stay with them but like what was it we can talk for her I'm happy to come over and meet with you and dr. hand we have some sad news I would ask for a moment of silence to see evening for Shepard Fairey Johnny Angel client who recently passed away in a senseless act of violence this is the lady that was killed in Worth Illinois I guess you was at the ATM and in care of her mother that that's still and seems like a very nice person unfortunately her life was taken sensibly and I would ask for a moment of silence at this time please okay thank you I do Wednesday November 15th is School Board member day just one take the opportunity to recognize the outstanding efforts of our school board members in the best in Illinois and thank them for donating their time of their commitment towards making 218 schools a welcoming safe place for students to achieve their and grow as members of society we learn together we leave together together we are making a difference for every student in our district and we have a small with Thanksgiving coming up here timing we thank you for all you do we have a a little gifts here keep your heads are there in the winter so you have a 2:18 hat we're proud or three nights a week. thank you very much for all you do and I guess I have to say to this board of education is really special it really hit along in the room they work together so I think everybody everybody else for your support of the board okay move on to agenda item number 6 sorry that we
