okay City School Board regular monthly meeting for October Despicable Me and we would have asked Mr Stoker's please take our secretary to take a roll, please mr. Griffin we have a full board this evening we were formed and we're going to have to say the United States of America all right I'm going to bring down to agenda item number for a run accommodations and biscuit mix part 1 if you would lead us please is been the policy of the Board of Education 2% resolutions of commendation to staff students and community members who have excelled academically athletically professionally or in service to others and Shepherd who have contributed to the remarkable enrollment growth and a cop accomplishments of students in advanced placement classes open past decade District 218 has seen explosive growth in its AP program with nearly three times the total number of students enrolled in at least one AP course including a three-fold increase in the number of African-American students nearly five-fold increase in the number of Latino students are currently now more than 1,400 students enrolled in at least one AP class compared to just over 500 in 2012 while the district had made efforts in the past to increase participation in AP courses especially among students of color a significant portion of the growth occurred over the last three or four years due to the district partnership with equal opportunity schools in the intense efforts of Administrators counselors and teachers collaborative team so identify recruit and retain non-traditional students in the AP program through Innovative Outreach efforts and focused support structures Nation are doing so I'll be half of all the staff students who helped grow this program tonight we have on Talbert I mean awesome.
