tiger touching plate sorry about all the time we have a quiet thank you and I can understand the excitement in the room so the School Board of Education Community High School District 218 this is our regular board meeting this is Thursday April 20th 2023 Dan we are at The District in Middle School Center Annawan Illinois so I could you could you please does cats Miss Rowe mr. Kozlowski I am present this present I'm sure we need to do this Pledge of Allegiance please meet us tonight and that brings us down to agenda item number for and resolutions and commendations and Mr mcpartland would you have the honor to do that Forester it has been more than patient navigation to stay up students and community members who have excelled academically and athletically professionally or in service to others Halo 4 News Press the final season in the history of the shepherd girls bowling program and possibly among all of the situation programs has too many personal highlights during the raid season chicken for place of the South Suburban Conference Red Division tournament and then won the ihsa Regional Championship sectional the best state finally she enjoyed a remarkable state tournament taking place among all folders in Loveland Nestle Water Resource students would, and Mike to hang looking like a sieve know where the success has been competing for the varsity wrestling team move to third place and Mike won first place in their weight classes at South Suburban Conference adult place at the ihsa regional sectionals how skinny is I just was right now but his list of grit and toughness and a lot of times through the four years been there just like wow I don't know how long you keep thinking you know some of those that he just absolutely continue to work grind persevered and was a regional champ with big wins over state qualifiers and kids writing stage and was a state qualifier and just act that you know I called himself after it was awesome to see you in that down there for 4 years my sister high-flying guy lets her role has a few dozen that sounds super fun to watch but again. You don't care to kiss great work ethic the incredible people I've been blessed to go to my been around a lot of talented kids so I could people there are way out there so thanks. unless you recognize the varsity girls going to a mixers this season under the leadership of head coach at thinking of Brian Waits the bulldog perhaps the finest season in school history has 15 invitations during the regular season them on the South Suburban Conference Red Division tournament and the ihsa Regional Championship history sexual nearly missed qualifying for the Miles by losing you to frame Rollo still how to say how proud I am of these girls was Grease season the best news is is we have everybody coming back next season so I will have two freshman to sophomore and a junior that were in our starting lineup and future looks really bright or Richard bowling store Disney Junior sophomore Natalie's through legs off more Alyssa Garcia and freshman candy bar freshman and me and Marques Junior next we honor the shepherd and Richard Stuart perfect subject scores on the Illinois side the ISA says knowledge of Life physical in Earth Science and says his skills when applying science information to real-world problems and data length of rigor Silver Spoons TV perfect scores included Alexander Burns and physical science Gil Martinez in Earth and space science Alexa Ramirez and physical science and Emily Shepard Richard students achieving perfect scores included Emily with Emily Lindsey invisible science Halie Loren cell and physical science and her finally tonight we are the directors cast and crew of concept play Productions is the conference play this season with a rich history of newborn Lauren Davis turn off your bikini contest play won first place and best of the best at South Suburban Conference drama Festival judge is way too big Bethel Street Superior Grace a place in Illinois High School Association sectional tournament qualify for the state finals finally the cast and crew won the ihsa state championship between the first and second round of group in history mr. Christian yes motion carries okay all those receiving award this evening and if you wish to leave at this time cuz we have a long and Jen do you want to get out of her for a walk but again congratulations thank you so much have a great evening call Tyler what's 1 * 6 Rick Rubin 7 / 0 okay well I really going to go help with the mini out of all right so item number five comments from the public related to the meeting agenda items is already public out this evening that wants to make a comment I meant, call Steph okay 30 respond to the public and or board member, 24 members have any comments is all of you are aware Richard suffered the loss of a staff member over spring break which was a staff member last week and a lot of you were aware of the situation because the letter was cheered by our superintendent but came out to support us because we have never dealt with the situation in dealing with such small children that we have to share information about a staff member that most of them knew you know and we really don't know how to navigate that and so it was just we're so grateful the staffing agency speaks to the kind of people that work in this District that they came out for two days and just kind of guided us through we didn't know what to do you know we didn't know how to handle it and they were 17 I did and so it was just really great and if it speaks to the Partnerships that we're really developing is making them stronger with our partners school so I just wanted to say you know I know something appreciation but I just need is going through the staff member was so nice to have that support so you know it was wonderful thank you it's a person within your District so we're going to do a Sprint phone like my deepest sympathy second of all we're going to do a moment of silence so when I read the other names that would you include that person we could also include that person moment of silence so I'm going to call for a moment of silence now who recently passed away is Cody Administrative Assistant Jerry McNulty a special education teacher that phone Castaway into 18 and would like to include this is cat stuck in our district for 20 years let's take a moment of silence right now for these individuals please thank you very much okay so it brings us down to agenda item number 70 of the consent agenda items 7 a.m. fools the Medics regular board meeting March 16th 2023 and March 16th 2020 388 excuse me is pressed powder second reading we've already gone over that week 10A is off ihsa membership and I remember 11 is a expenditures videos for District 218 payment of Phil's Mac payables and agenda item 12 is recommendations of the superintendent concerning staff Personnel Personnel list number two 23-4 and that is African set for this evening is there any board member that wants to take anything off of consent agenda this evening non-driver motion to accept please do I have a first and a second so would you take a boat out of this role Miss hunt Miss Collier sold business LA area school board meeting dates 2023 2024 it's an action items I need a motion to bring it to the floor please when I get over first and the second is there any discussion meeting dates I was wondering if we can look at those lie and like I said this was just today like I just because they coincide with 1:30 same day same time and there might be a situation where I would like to be a board meeting and I know that Sarah had as kids I want to attend one of you think it would be an issue what's up this is just one day our board meeting dates lift 132 but usually I know times where I would like to the articulation you wanted to keep an eye on Thursday if you could do the second just do the second of four and we you want to just come the girl that wears the coming hair what do you think is anybody has anybody else have any conflicts okay no fourth the Thursday of November is Thanksgiving alright so let's revisit that we can look at the calendar we'll look at and send something to you to review I wasn't moving as Thursday or something but after the weekend after the weekend then you have to come on Monday night it's kind of motorcycles don't forget the second Thursday that's going to move up the next meeting that right all right let's make everybody nobody would have a problem. Okay so I have a second for them we have a motion on the floor to table for the next meeting because of you table in general minutes. okay so your motion is two tables for the to the next meeting your next regular meeting you so any other comments you don't have to take a motion to get it that's why this can't tell him I miss you Christian yes motion carries excited and that's a new hire Productions thank you very much I'm very excited introduce a new position it has been approved by the board about the BC roll we have some great professionals that have stepped up in the district song I must start with Shepherd Kathleen Fitzgibbon just stand up you want to walk up here right now Kathleen she's been teaching math at Eisenhower for entire career for 14 years she has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Eastern Illinois and her master's degree in school leadership from Cordia University Terry Smith she's the science department chair at Shepard high school she has taught physics and physics for 15 years in this District she's currently a DTE she has her Bachelor's in physics specializing in engineering mechanics from University of Illinois Champaign she's also received her master's in education from U of U of I coming back social studies department chair Ellie has been teaching for 20 Sears in this District English she is also has been an instructional coach for the past eight years of Shepherd High School Shepherd Hopkins Eisenhower High School English department chair Kansas from teaching English for 15 years 7 years into 18 at the past seven years early she's an instructional coach for two years and an English teacher also at DTE she has her bachelor's and secondary education with an emphasis in English from University of missouri-kansas City she is currently enrolled in an accelerated master's program for a leadership with a principals endorsement at National-Louis University which will be play in the summer Angie Amoroso math department chair and Eisenhower teaching math for 14 years and in the past 11 years and Eisenhower she's currently teaching math and serving here to Mathis illustrator and Eisenhower 26 mouse key social studies department chair he's been he's been teaching for 16 years not all at 2:18 though he currently teaches at high school he has his undergrad at Saint Xavier Masters in teaching history from you I see and a master's in leadership from American College of Education that's it for now a necklace science department chair at Richards High School just currently teaching has been teaching science for 22 years and she's currently teaching at hlr right now for Bachelor's in biology Illinois Wesleyan she has a master's in education Administration from Olivet Nazarene Nazarene and a master's in biology from Miami University Nicole scolaro English department chair at HR she said 8 here's an education she taught English at Shepherd she's also taught English and served as a building literacy instructional coach hlr and her present time as an assistant principal for curriculum instructions hlr received her Bachelor's in English secondary education from State University Masters in Reading paintings are Saint Xavier University and a master's and Ed leadership of the principal endorsement from Lewis University it's Greg's birthday today what is 8 mm congratulations for the birthday boy needs to let you so you don't have to stay more than welcome to stay. It was it was fun to see I think of inviting our eighth graders to come up from our feeder schools was was a bonus maybe we can get there in the band or they can go play for us or something because something more representation you guys did a great job granddaughter wants to take a pottery class okay I have a committee appointments sheet that's in front of the remember and off what I did what we did is we doing places where Mr Stokes used to be on committees and the other committee members are instead of photos of the Committees that they were on previous so we haven't reorganization coming up in May we see two new board members for people that won the elections and most of the time somebody wants to change committees and most of the time it's up to you to let somebody that's fine I'm just looking at you I never look at you but that includes everybody if somebody wants to be on a committee committee then we'll see if we can accommodate if you can't that's what I'm trying to do here but it's an open meeting all right so if there's more than two committee members on a committee than anybody on the board is welcome to come to that meeting meeting due to the fact that it's an open meeting next week reminder book actually mrs. hockey little you're the one that got into those ones you like or not look it over and shoot thank you don't know if anybody wants to leave a committee or not being a comedian time to change at the reorganization go quickly and was first Roman yesterday for the real get ready for that very long I'm at the new organization meeting book if you're agreeable I'm going to do it and I will it'll just be done at one time rather than he's doing it for 15 minutes and as of May we are officially we do not have the emergency Proclamation for covid-19 more in the state of Illinois meeting and how that applies to meetings is that you can hear able to purchase resume for for no reason whatsoever but we'll go back to the old rules under the open meetings act which you're allowed to participate either telephonically or via video if you have a work engagement or if you are you have an illness now I pull all my clients that you don't have to play the president or the elite are the CEO of Subaru are those push manager doesn't have to play medical doctor and they need a medical note but those are the reasons why that's so that's how it changes again as of May 11th thank you for a great thank you for one more thing I wanted to add is that we went back we had to finance committee in the past and we are Resurrected finance committee again and mrs.
