I am excited to join the District 218 family as Curriculum Director for Physical Education, Health, Driver Education, and JROTC. Prior to coming to CHSD 218 I was a health and physical education teacher, athletic trainer, and coach for ten years. I’ve earned my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Masters of Science in Physical Education from Chicago State University, a Masters of the Arts in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, as well as my Driver Education endorsement from Olivet.
I strongly believe that the Physical Education, Health, and Driver Education curricula can emphasize the lifelong skills of collaborative communication, problem solving, self-assessment and literacy through a relevant and rigorous curriculum. I hope to promote high standards so that teachers can challenge their students to find physical activity as an important aspect to their everyday life as well as understand how health literacy can help them to lead a life of wellness.
