Andrea Azzo
Andrea Azzo has been the Public Information Specialist at Community High School District 218 (CHSD 218) since January 2025. She shares news about the district and its students and schools.
Before joining CHSD 218, Andrea worked at Northwestern University’s Center for Advancing Safety of Machine Intelligence (CASMI). She helped share the center’s work on making artificial intelligence safer.
Andrea spent most of her career in local TV news. She worked as a producer and executive producer in Austin, Texas; Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University.

Before joining the district, she was the Senior Communications Coordinator at the Northwestern University Center for Advancing Safety of Machine Intelligence (CASMI), a research hub focused on operationalizing safety in artificial intelligence. She spent the bulk of her career in local television news as a producer and executive producer in markets including Austin, Texas; Kalamazoo, Michigan; and Green Bay, Wisconsin. Andrea earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Northern Illinois University. She has two children, is an avid baseball fan, and loves chocolate.
