Art History

This course is designed for all students who appreciate art and the humanities; artistic talent is not required. An emphasis will be placed on the exploration of significant art movements from major historical periods and how they reflect societies and cultures, past and present. Students will be able to identify, discuss and compare the visual qualities of various art movements as well as formulate an aesthetic evaluation of them. Elements from history, geography, literature, and the visual and performing arts will be critical components in this interdisciplinary course.
