Delta & Summit Learning Center

Profile

As the Curriculum Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), I have devoted my career to provide the students of CHSD 218 with the opportunity to explore and develop their skills in the areas of Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Technology and Engineering Education. Working with the CHSD 218 administration, faculty, staff, and community partners our goal is to provide all students with an education that will prepare them for success in college and careers. This is my twenty-fifth year in education, specifically all in Career and Technical Education. Prior to my career in education I held positions in the fields of construction, manufacturing, and engineering.

In 2002 I started in District 218 as a CTE teacher at Shepard High School. I have been the Curriculum Director of CTE since 2004. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Bachelor of Arts in Technology Education from Chicago State University, and a Master of Arts degree in Education Administration from St. Xavier University.

My philosophy of education is simple and time-tested. I believe “we learn by doing”. I am fortunate and proud that the CTE staff share this philosophy. Together we work to provide all students with learning environments and experiences that will prepare them for their future. If you would like to learn more about the CTE programs in CHSD 218, please feel free to contact me or visit the department websites. http://www.chsd218.org/apps/departments/clubs.jsp
