2021 Weaver St Edmunds feder 107th and code 1701 Kilpatrick Avenue Oak Lawn Illinois April 15th 2021 board meeting will be held at the central Administrative Office public is invited but will be limited to 25 in the room at this meeting will also this meeting will also be held vertically due to current covid-19 crisis you may attend the meeting vertically through Zoom April 15th 2001 Zoom regular board meeting of Education meeting any public comments can be submitted in writing to Karen Hill and Karen Hill. Org up until agenda items called comments from the public related to the meeting agenda items thank you cooperation in this matter is there a storm going on tonight is right okay we need to call the meeting to order which I can't believe I did so we need to do a roll call please I am a present remotely because they are positive coma test in mi what's I want to do I keep everyone safe and and remote present okay I was going to be a good evening present I am present so we have seven board members present this evening pledge of allegiance to the flag is in the corner over here States of America to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible so we have an agenda item number for is resolution of commendations and we do not have any this evening agenda item number 5 is coming for the public you made it to the meeting agenda items this is home where there any do you spell out there today turn on read this. item number 64 bumpers opportunity to respond to the public and or board member, so I would leave that as or bumper, 24th Ave NE, I about to brief comments mr. president this is mr. stokis first box from Richards high school was named the new principal at Marist High School my alma mater sounds very excited about that I wanted to offer her my congratulations and as I always say we're lucky to have great public schools and great private schools in our area and I know she'll do a tremendous job at so congratulations to her and to her family and for the work she's done at Richards High School specifically a hand in the diplomas de Leon graduation good luck here mag and my son comments is that Illinois House Bill 70 classrooms first act it out past the Illinois House Elementary and secondary education committee 80 and now is going into discussions with different stakeholders and that bill would consolidate her leave it up to the voters of some District. Consolidated School Districts proponents I think too many levels of local government in Illinois, I think that would save taxpayers money and also would put more money directly into our classrooms for a student so I'm support about that and I'm going to be submitting a witness slept in support of that when the appropriate time comes and if anyone would like to join me on that let me know or feel free to submit your own witness slip those are my two comments for this evening I guess my comment 7 is what I got Shuffle random item on the ballot or is that I don't think they are considering districts are looking tomorrow they'll be on a referendum for the voters exactly exactly correct on that District to be a Stan I'm just speaking in general I think that would be a positive thing throughout the stage and leaving that up to the voters and give the voters at a say so in each Community across the state I think that's necessary or appropriate for their I didn't look I heard of it but I've never heard of thank you DMV information why being Deadpool also are they not sure about the school board's but I know there was a group of Superman since that argued against it has a large number of superintendents that were against it but I'm not going to speculate as to why they would want to have left superintendents last upper level management upper level positions because of the last districts but then more money would be able to be diverted into the classroom not sure what the Illinois Association of school boards that their position is on it if they've have one or not okay cuz I don't remember it being on the legislative agenda for that's why. I'll be back in the school okay Princeton and I see is a student enrollment report right now we're in the middle of this we are also if you do talk to her and probably going to be mandated to offer a remote so right now we're not having right now we're you know or what one weekend we can the day into bringing orchids back to school are more crowded right now or populated so far it's been a good thing that we do have some classrooms that you know 20 21 22 and they're crowded but we're not there yet right now and then heading to increased but but we we are because of the the extra money that's available to us we are looking interventions and hoping are kids so we're going to have bodies if we need to pick the right now we have a plan for them glasses I'll do that as well so it's really like everything just don't know 92 general maintenance report safe and healthy and clean I received about I don't know Center 7 phone calls from parents from the Richard's area swim club Shepard swim club they're sending their students to other swim clubs and wondering if we're going to open the pools anytime soon I guess everybody in our region is open Evergreen Parts open Oak Lawn women 2:30 women I don't know if I know we got to about all facilities summer end I don't know maybe women that decorate but everyone is all over the place we're trying to do right now is go John Oliver and I are going to be decide where we're we're going to be forward related so there's the decision will be made next week early next week kids making sure everything's okay I was discussed actually this week with yet letting director they did some legwork reached out to people doing and how are people dealing with this moving forward so answer the call.
