the regular school board meeting of community High School District 218 it is Monday December 14th 2026 31 the meetings taking place at the district Christian Center I need to call the meeting to order and mrs. Hill where there any comments from anybody from the public about the meeting agenda season okay thank you very much so that brings us down. number five is board members opportunity to respond to the public and or board member comments sing that there were no comments from the public do any board members at this time have any comments Terri Nunn princess down to agenda item number six is approval of the consent a giant agenda items this is an action item so I need a motion to bring it to the floor Christian song Move can I have a second please I have a first and the second approval of the consent agenda items 6A is approval of the minutes regular board meeting November 16th 2029 a is an appointment of Michael Mike Stillman as a hearing officer for the calendar year of t21 agenda item number 10 is approval of the expenditures Community High School District 218 payment of bills and agenda item number 11 is recommendations as a superintendent concerning staff Personnel Personnel list number 2020 - 12 is there any board member that wants anything taken off the consent agenda this evening hearing none misspelled would you please take it to a vote cast ask Jeff laser eye Strokers I Roski Eye Center Christian Christian yes okay so the most fairies and because I want constant agenda has passed this evening brings this down to agenda item number 7 which is old business do not have any old business this evening so bring some stuff with Jen donut item number 8 is reports to the superintendent 8 8 is a financial report are there any questions or comments on the financials during non brings us down to 8 Diaz technology update are there any questions about the technology update turn on princess down to 8C is student enrollment enrollment report are there any questions on the student enrollment report this evening turn on breaks down to ADP is general maintenance report are there any questions or comments about the general maintenance report princess down to a t e is the business managers update are there any questions about the business manager manager update brings the stone to a deaf is an update on remote slash in person School schooling this is a discussion is there anybody that has any comments or information they want to stir if your call we decided to put this on as a standing item just if the board had questions and so we could update is not allowed to update right now as you know we're going to the last full week of the semester we all spent Monday and Tuesday of next week we have had several committees meet and talk about the second semester and any little tweaks that we would have nothing too dramatic is happening Ask Josh if they want to add anything to stop a remote learning there we did a nice job putting together a group of tea tub of staff and we actually pulled in some teachers in the conversation in the union to talk about scheduling for semester grade book changes with the number of apps that we had some conversations how we could do that a little bit differently second semester mtss and supports for kids and place we landed there with Wednesday we're going to continue to help kids on Wednesdays give them as much tutoring and support as they need for the second semester in a remote hybrid world that we're living in and we also put together a professional Learning Community subcommittee talk about how we're collaborating and work together so we landed in a good place in terms of scheduling and in all these different subcommittees and we we decided that we're going to dedicate the first three days of the semester to roll out our plan and a professional development in place and really look at paridon our curriculum and making sure we're focused on the essential curriculum and instruction we need for our kids and making sure we have a supports in place and really trying to provide professional development success stories from our teachers and former staff this to me this unknown world to try and connect kids to engage them in this room culture in you know it was just it was a difficult semester it was nothing we could have prepared for what we did learn a lot and we can have a phone cons in a different approach to go second semester so we're excited about moving forward in the right direction anyone ask dr. Walder dr. briceno did an excellent job in bringing her ideas and her voice to these committees as well okay just want to say I have two nephews that are at Eisenhower and I talked to my sister couple times a week about e-learning and how is it going and he's very pleased they are very pleased how was going that you know they need to reach out to their teachers are able to reach out to their teachers and so me hearing that sitting on the board makes me feel really good stuff jackass keep up the good work of work tirelessly to no kudos to them and then the work that they've done the semester we couldn't do any of this without diamonds and Thomas you know the pros and cons things that are working or not working and where we need to go they've been our eyes and ears and her voice and kudos to the to the teachers for all their work it's been a difficult semester for them I was just wondering if we have any information from the state of Illinois covid-19 vaccinations would they possibly take place within the school's itself and the administrators and the place of the District bus the students be vaccinated there as as other any plans coming from the state or as a school district salt started out any plan type of situation right now we do not have specifics there's been quite a bit of dialogue about what the state is doing meeting with the superintendent in the area but there had been no specifics other than it appears in Illinois teachers up a few slots here in terms of being able to get the vaccine but no decisions of Maine yet whether it'll be mandated and required at this time so really it's just a fluid situation night I do not have Pacific answers that right now that would probably be the governor's call over to legislature who knows I mean that's kind of Parts but I I will tend to think the governor seems to be in what type of decision so possibly could be there Administration that would forward a plan to us hopefully I'm sure they are okay all right so that brings us down to are there any other questions I'm sorry what's the time in snow is play reports by board members are there any committee reports hearing none brings us down to which end item number 9 is new business brings this down the 9B which is pressed policy Updates this is only the first reading so we will not bow down there this evening if anybody has any questions take the direct that to dr. Blazer laser eye Strokers I Kozlowski Christian yes motion carries 600 brings us down to 290 which is 2020 property tax levy this is an action item could I have a motion please to bring it to the floor Weiser Christian second I have a first and second is there are there any questions or comments or discussion on this item president I've always since I've been on this board advocated for a more zero based budgeting approach and this year especially because because of covet I think we should not be raised in the lighting to the highest amount possible unless absolutely necessary and said we should we try find ways to limit increase hold the hold the line or even lower that letting the administration in the air report today that we got space at 4.9% is the PAT pass practice but I don't think just because we always do it and that's a big problem we always go to the full Max lottery which has the 4.9 wont let could be 54.9 and then it's not down to CPI this year people are out of work strike mortgages I really do not think they say turn with on Assassin's Creed characters from out of District so as I vote on the tax levy increase for this upcoming year thank you I was just going to ask if we are aware of any new properties coming back I got a check from it's like that though it might affect their lovey no we don't have any new property company at this time we usually assume certain amounts for items that are not in Tiff's and dads are standard amount but nothing additional what was what was our expense last year compared to this year did they go out more than CPI I believe so I mean last year it's hard to say cuz last year was a unique year with the end of the year cost that we're bullying beyond what we expected but we expected to have high costs this time we still are in a deficit budget yeah and that's that's that's the hard thing about the obvious that you can only go over the CPI so I mean if or if we were to have 2% growth in our expenses Duffy I think fiscally responsible especially with Union country so I don't see that we have any choice but to do what we're doing true and I are CPI was at 2.3 as of last December but that doesn't take into account all of these things are happening now for this December it's expected to be lower we're not sure exactly how much lower but at the end of November it look like it was going to come in and make come in right about 1.5 1.7% so much lower so even asking for 4.9 we're only going to get the 1.5 or 2.3 is that correct we're basing it on estimates we do balloon it to make sure that we are capturing all that we can on that and you'll see later coming up we did save the taxpayers some money on and the Bandit win 20 and abatement yes that should be noted for a taxpayer's as well truth in the spring we had sold bond is pretty much like refinancing your house we refinance the bonds in order to say the taxpayers a little over half million dollars over the life of the remainder of the bond any other kind answer Quest This Is How We Do please take it to vote Blazer hey Sarai do cats know cuz I'll ski Christian Christian yes yes play the motion carries princess down to 9 years resolution allocating tax levy this is an action item I need ammo bring it to the fourth place Christian song Move first and the second is there any discussion for comments on this would you please take it to Vault mrs.
