call this meeting to order please thank you very much all right so all this meeting to order the school board of Community High School District 218 this is Thursday we are at the 218 District administration ministrative Center it is about 6:33 so mrs. cats calm have a roll call I am presence pair. Harding and I'm supposed to summarize in and I'm just going to read it it's really brief it's real important so any I would encourage any of the board members if anyone from the county contacts text you that weed we support this and now the lottery this Island's real brief so I just read it real quick cuz deer Commissioners on the morning of February 4th 2019 a fatal crash occurred on Central Avenue near 107th Street resulting in the death of a Richards student as you walk to school this location lies between the Villages of Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn currently a 20 mile-an-hour speed zone is postal on Central Avenue between 104th Street and 109th Street near the Richards campus for the sky record is also a second school speed zone posted along Central Avenue near 103rd Street adjacent to the southwest Chicago Christian School located within the village of Oaklawn and I st. Gerald school on Central Avenue near South thaiway considering this unfortunate tragedy The Villages of Chicago Ridge and Oaklawn I rejoined plate requesting the Cook County division of Transportation highways evaluate Central Avenue from Southwest Highway on 11th Street for various traffic control improvements as they relate to school zones and general for the Austrian safety to be implemented by the county and its needs to come from the county The Villages and is also signed by at the school I requesting the following improvements be considered larger and more visible Regulatory and warning signs time of day flashing warning beacons at the beginning of all school speed zones improvements to existing Kua payment markings using high visibility and high durability pavement marking materials elimination of sight obstructions for existing signage radar speed signs uniformity with the current federal and state fireman's for the manual on uniform traffic control devices and Illinois supplement to the National manual on uniform traffic control devices and finally coordination with local cleaner needs to establish as warranted school route plans Central Central Road Corridor by Jason to the local Street Network the village of the Chicago Ridge and Oaklawn believe that these type improvements May prevent future tragedies involving school children and pedestrians occurring along Central Ave within our communities should you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us and Sara Lee signed by the mayor's the police Chiefs Fire Chiefs are principal or superintendent and I know one thing they talked about doing an initially was having a squad car in the median but at least like the lights flashing hopefully to slow down traffic when the children go to and from school at least slow down the traffic not that would have prevented the tragedy but I think good government and communication between government agencies in Portland this is a prime example if the two villages in the school board come together may be able to get that the county to implement some of these on safety measures along Central Avenue to prevent teacher tragedy so I'm definitely in favor of it and I'm and remember the board may be contacted to so I would hope that we can come together and stand behind the neighbors and police Chiefs of Fire season 5 way to lessen the hazards on Central Avenue which is very busy street spawn that's my report on security for me tonight to print and said for this tragedy a place to get a voided on future events like that can I said something today when you guys are meeting and in brainstorming on who sings I don't know if anybody drive down hundred in front of the Chicago high school for a couple months ago maybe buddy months ago they put up a camera speed camera and that's slow down everybody leaving the business is open up settings please slow down with $25 you got me you even go stand over there you watch and see what happens I mean cars just they did 20 miles an hour and that's it at both directions to Annie only got the cameras on one way so I don't know if that's something we can suggest Chicago Richard put up on Oak open up one Beacon each way and then see what happens but it's effective I'll pay that only allows cameras in the city of Chicago so that's something you need to talk to the legislature about Jacob's out there and they said they were going to try to do call The Narrows pictures Greenleaf thankful Edwards in Saint Cloud mr.
