call this meeting to order and this is the school board of Community High School District 218 this is our regular board meeting Thursday October 19th 2017 we are at the District Administrative Center and our first agenda item is called or so the next one is Brokaw could you please take a roll call present so we have a formal we need to say the Pledge of Allegiance I would ask everybody to stand please thank you princess style to agenda item number for is resolutions and commendations mr. mcpartland you have the floor sir thank you congratulations we need a motion to approve the resolution of comment could you take care of your car please okay the motion carries a lot of congratulations and I'm sure that's who that is thank you for your support of the school district and your daughter and that's amazing what you have done and a lot of the administrators and Community High School District 218 to help you to achieve those goals also so we do have a lengthy agenda this evening so I don't know if you want to stay for the whole meeting but you're free to go at this time if you feel thank you again okay turn off key sounds turn on would you take a boat place to approve yeah okay stove approved francistown to agenda item number 888 is annual financial statement and independent Auditors report presentator would be Kelly Kelly can you have another job and then what do you want to do it yourself sir play maze when we come out early and go out early I'm single that was my choir when I was looking this over and then I know you're alright you're saying so when I was looking it over about an hour before the meeting unfortunately time runs you're busy I was wondering so this is not for approval to see if correct and we can review this again so that's my  I would rather I like it that way be honest with you instead of being rushed in and triad cuz it's the last I mean there's a lot of money here obviously you spent three weeks doing maybe a month ago time cuz we don't do this to the professionals but the know we appreciate that so that's good are there any questions On the Border pretty much from the years that I've been on the board really ball what's up for increases we have in funding from the state or property taxes whatever pretty much are very similar so there's no questions or funny comments so we thank you for your time and I will review it and next week it'll next month will be on the board agenda so we don't approve you know okay alright thank you it's good to hear that we headed for the clean out it and bring some stuff to agenda item number 9 news reports to the superintendent and Financial are there any questions are there any questions you can direct us to the Terri Nunn freezes stuff to technology and pray 9B technology update and could I see Tim Timmons the insurance lot of people picking up the insurance for the day there from 43 to 68 of 43% to 68% quite an increase and are they is that because some of the parents had a tattoo of a refund or not refund the pay that the school district for or are they just going to find some call Dad. I'm kidding but it is good thank you for your food does anybody else have any reports Ender Chest last year Paulina and more support make sure can I take most of the parents to work I think it's very important that the community realizes that it's their school district Community I mean Community High School District 218 and really if you think about The Words which we don't I mean I guess I do now previous you don't you just kind of taking my daughter or son graduated from but whatever but the actual you are even when they move on and they're not students anymore and you have but you're still in that you wasn't at community in that that is your high school and that's very important that you know what's going on or what participate whatever so that's huge I think it's quite right I could come on you for both thank you good job okay are you doing okay so my committee will meet Association of school boards 2017 resolutions committee and it'll be at the assembly November kids 2017 in Chicago so we will be discussing the resolutions that are in your packet this evening if before we kind of talked as a board and if anybody has a resolution that strikes them as being entrusted to them or wants me to take a position on the resolution on the floor of the Sun call please let me know contact me I don't think you up to this evening but you know there's quite a few resolutions and then a lot of them get to be put on consent agenda also review on see what you think and please let me know right before they cost so you can let me know and then we can discuss over some things today before the committee meets so I didn't know it was that instead of Thursday so it's Friday and Saturday Saturday yeah Saturday's when I get there early alright one of my friends is on the Illinois we're always excited to see each other so it's good thing so we're done with that so we need to go down to agenda item. business and 10 a.m. is proposal for November 2017 Institute day this is an action item so I need a motion to bring it to the play having first and the second are there any questions are there any discussion about the Institute day hearing none please take it to a vote Excuse me yes motion carries francistown to 10 beers request for approval to lease mr. Holmes okay so we have a 7 talking carries thank you India's request for approval to lease MacBook laptops and I need a motion to bring to the action items so I need a motion to bring it to the door please have a person II are there any questions any tech people here know this is for the pictures the PCS that are in the classroom that have been there for 10 to 12 years so you pretty much be in line with the students are using right he's being paid the 25 bucks for them so they just for school used it's not for personal use is that correct I mean I think we need to emphasize that so nobody gets in trouble I'm sure they don't pull they already have their own PC okay I got it all right are the goals of daisies out in January and the end of this year so next year we have to have them just for attendance those things in the classroom so they'll be there after every day computer basically I guess it wasn't a specific agenda item it was budgeted that we are anticipating that we need to just like we've always replace computers ever even fax number of years but I'm not aware we can look and see if there is something there covers and we anticipate a longer shelf life than the four year lease we buy it for a dollar at the end of the four years and then we'll continue to use them until it's necessary to do we sell the old PCS they are on their way to go in the dumpster or I mean information that's on them costume store yeah I just feel the same expense write 10 years old we almost have to pay people to take him kids are looking at our liability okay thank you just to add on your comment that illegal finance and legal committee and I believe the state's legal to so there's two board members on but to believe they could make a policy that would they would have to present it to whoever and the board of course for approval but a policy for if we're going to have an XP picture over x amount of dollars that it would go to that committee also and then they would approve it and then come to the board of education so we we have approval of an expenditure that would be nice I think that we would like to know that beforehand call mr. Stoll Chris was referring to so okay so we need to take care of you to vote to approve Persia okay we got motion carries Craigslist Charlotte NC Illinois Association of school board resolution and resolutions I believe we already talked about it under the floor Cummins Falls we all Dennis it's only information so it's okay brings us down to 13 board member comments thank you to do great job it's very nice of you to say it's his first year cabs that I do have one but I think I'll save it for next meeting cuz there's a lot of things just people that are Cubs fans who I guess so the power of financial literacy next time that's all that would be good so we need a motion to going to close session very quickly thought and discussion and pointment appointment of Captain station indoor performance of specific employees discussion on pending or probable litigation affecting or on behalf of public discussion on collective bargaining negotiation matters so I need a motion to go and do exactly so I could have a second okay so we will reconvene as soon as we get the microphones off please
